Note added December 22, 2004:

It was discovered in the release of version 1 segments
that there were an error in the original online
segment list generation  Subsequent investigation
uncovered a second error.

1) H1 segment 8

   H1 segment 8 was originally defined to be
  
     8  784869116  784870325   1209

   but should have been defined to be

     8  784869028  784870325   1297

   So 88 seconds of valid science mode data
   are missing from the official DQ segments which
   are based on the original list. We have decided,
   for the sake of avoiding confusion, not to
   redefine segment 8. Analysts are free, of 
   course, to look at those 88 seconds if desired.

2) H2 segment 2

   H2 segment 2 was originally defined to be

     2  784711702  784732832  21130

   but should have been defined to be

     2  784711702  784732648  20946

   So 184 seconds of invalid (unlocked!) data
   was identified originally as being science mode.
   Again, to avoid confusion, the segment has
   not been redefined, but a data quality flag
   (UNLOCKED) has been set in version 1 for the
   interval 784732647-784732832.

The problem that led to these two errors
in the original online generation has been fixed.
