PowerFlux results using Greg's fake SFTs, take 2
Analysis details
- Powerflux was run on corresponding SFTs sets consisting of 1000 SFTs each
- Starting bin number was 728750 which corresponds to frequency of approximately 404.861 Hz
- powerflux.log files in correspoding directories contain details of the runs
- file.log files in corresponding directories contain log of *.dat files output together with data type used.
- Right Ascension is from 0 to 2*Pi left to right
- Declination is -Pi/2 to Pi/2 top to bottom, so the North Pole is pointing down.
Changes from previous run
- PowerFlux code has been restructured and some options were removed. This should not have any effect on the results.
- The skymap plots have been mirrored on both axes, so that the North pole
is pointing up and the right ascension is counting right to left, with 2*pi corresponding to the leftmost points. This confirms to convention used by astronomers.
- The color scale has been changed to increase saturation of displayed colors.
- The estimate of the standard deviation that is used for Feldman-Cousins statistics has been changed, reducing it by factor of 1.22/1.69. Apparently the idealized model used to derive the estimate does not hold.
- Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is now being run on data to verify correctness
of parameters passed to Feldman-Cousins algorithm. The output of it is plotted
in files *_ks_test.png and *_ks_count.png.
